Induction Training to GPAT staff of Batch III - GPs in Idukki District started at Thodupuzha
Thodupuzha, 7th July:Comprehensive Induction Training Programme for GPAT staff members of Batch III - GPs in Idukki District started at Thodupuzha. The new recruits comprising of Team Leaders, Senior Engineers, Community Development specialists, Accountants, and Community Facilitators attended in the programme. The Induction training programme is organised from 7th to 9th July 2015 at Sicilia Hotel Thodupuzha. The objective of the Programme was to impart the basic philosophy and inculcate the knowledge of various aspects and components of Jalanidhi Programme. Shri. .K N Suresh Babu (Deputy Director -HR) detailed the objectives of the workshop. Dr. Sabu Varghese, Regional Project Director inaugurated the training Programme. All together 30 participants attended the training programme.

One Day Workshop on Sustainability of Water Supply Schemes held.
One day workshop was organized for developing strategies for ensuring the sustainability of Water Supply Schemes owned and operated by General Beneficiary Groups. The Programme was held on 1st July 2015 at Hotel Residency Tower, Press Road Thiruvananthapuram. Smt.Tinku Biswal IAS, Executive Director has delivered keynote address. The ED has emphasized the need for improved water supply coverage by ensuring the sustainability of investments made. Shri.M.Premlal, Director (HRD) detailed the objectives of the workshop. Shri.K.Mohan, Director (Tech) and Shri.V.L.Mohankumar, Director (Operations) were also present in the inaugural session. Special invitees from the sector are also attended discussions and deliberations.

One Day Workshop of JIMS started at PMU, Trivandrum
A one day training programme on Jalanidhi Information Management (JIMS) for the newly recruited project commissioners of KRWSA begins at PMU,Thiruvananthapuram on 30th June 2015. The primary objective of the workshop is to give an orientation on various aspects including inputting, approving data in JIMS software and its application, benefits at various levels. The training programme was inaugurated by Smt. Tinku Biswal IAS, Executive Director, KRWSA. ED in the opening remarks emphasized the roles and responsibilities of Project Commissioners in time bound implementation of the project. The Project Commissioners should use the JIMS for taking appropriate decisions in facilitating and managing the project in a community driven development mode. Mr.M.Premlal, Director (HRD) presided over the inaugural programme and Mr. Arun Raj.S, Director (M&E), K. N Suresh Babu (DDHR) attended the inaugural function. Sri. K.Promod, DD(M&E) took classes on various aspects of JIMS. Thirteen Project commissioners attended the workshop.

Comprehensive Induction Workshop for Grama Panchyath Action Team (GPAT) of Kasaragode and Kottayam Held
Trissur, 24 June:Comprehensive Induction Workshop for GPAT staff members of Batch III - GPs of Jalanidhi Phase II was held at Trissur. The new recruits comprising of Team Leaders, Senior Engineers, Community Development specialists, Accountants, and Community Facilitators attended the Induction training from 24th to 26th June 2015 at Hotel Elite Trissur. A total of thirty five participants attended the programme. The objective of the Programme was to inculcate the basic philosophy and impart the knowledge of various aspects and components of Jalanidhi project. Shri.M.Premlal (Director -HRD) delivered the key note address in the workshop. Shri. Abdul Latheef (RPD Malappuram), Shri. V.Chandran (RPD Kannur), Shri. P R Narandra Dev (Sector expert ) Shri. K N Suresh Babu (DDHR), Shri. George Mathew (Manager- CD RPMU Kannur), Shri. K Pramod (DDME) and Shri. Jose James (Manager-CD Idukki) took classes on various aspects. The Motivation, communication and team buildings session was facilitated by Shri. Kriparaj K bobby, Trainer, Calicut, the programme was enriched with vibrant team exercises that brought the participants to retrospect their team efficiency and ways for improvement. The overall training sessions includes classroom cum group activities, case study, discussion and experience sharing modes. The evening of the second day was supplemented with various cultural programmes by the participants. The feedback of the participants shows the programme was effective and to give them a better understanding of the Jalanidhi Project.

Workshop to develop post implementation support strategy for Tribal BGs held at Kalpatta
Kalpatta, Wayandu : 19th June 2015:One day workshop was organized by KRWSA at Wayanadu for developing strategy for BG sustainability of Tribal BGs of Wayandu District.The Programme was held on 19th of June 2015 at Hotel Woodlands, Kalpetta, Wayandu. The Workshop inaugurated by Shri. V L Mohan Kumar Director Operations, KRWSA. Shri.M. Premlal, Director HRD presided the workshop proceedings. Shri.V. Chandran, Regional Project Director delivered felicitation speech. The participants of the workshop are Social Development Officers of KRWSA, Officials from Tribal and Forest Departments, GP Presidents, SO Directors, Team Leaders, and experts from the water sector and tribal sector development field. The objective of the programme is to develop an approach paper on the strategies for sustained support both institutional and operational in long run to the BGs, and to formulate strategies, plans, and plan of action by the GPs and BG Federation. Altogether 30 participants attended the programme.
